St. Gabriel – Master Korabel

The decree of Peter the Great on December 23, 1724 marked the beginning of the first Kamchatka expedition with the goal of exploring a route to America adjacent to Asia.  The Captain was Vitus Bering, a Russian officer of Danish descent.  Once constructed, this ship was named “Holy Archangel Gabriel” and completed two voyages to the northeast coast of Asia while mapping the west and east coasts of Kamchatka.

This kit includes:

  • All hull planking and details are laser cut
  • Double Planking
  • Marked bevel on frames
  • A special hull design that compensates the materials’ deformation
  • Detailed photo instructions and drawings, including English translations
  • Patterns and cloth for the sail sewing (pre-made sails set available separately)
Note that the ship’s boat show in some images is not included in the kit and must be purchased separately – MK0102, 75mm ship’s boat
