32LB GUN ON FRONT PINTLE CARRAIGE The 32 lb gun was used by both sides in both Naval and Ground theaters during the American Civil War. The Flagship Models 1/32 scale model represents just one of several ways the Confederacy used it. They invented a new carriage that allowed the gun to be wielded with little threat to the users from enemy gun fire. The result was the Front Pintle Barbette Carriage. To put it simply, this carriage allowed the weapon to be popped above a trench, wall, or embankment, while still allowing the gun to be fired. The carriage was also designed to break down to be transported. Flagship Models includes a neat base designed to put the gun in it’s proper setting along with various tools used to load the weapon. The kit comes complete with everything shown as well as computer rendered 3-D instructions and color box art.
