La Candelaria – OcCre’s reproduction of the La Candelaria, an 18th century Spanish bomb vessel is one of the finest we have seen. The kit combines historical accuracy with high quality components and exacting detail.
La Candelaria is a Plank-on-frame construction Model Ship Kit using pre-cut wooden parts and double planking in flexible limewood and beautiful dark walnut. Smoothly finished boxwood blocks and deadeyes are ready to use. White metal figurehead, lifeboat, gunport frames, quarter gallery sides, bell tower, upper stern decorations, chimney, buckets, anchors, main topmast crosstree are finely cast. Brass hinges and shafts, 12 gun carriages cannon eyebolts, belaying pins, quarter deck pillars and quarter gallery windows are all in proper scale. Stern ornamentation is photo-etched brass, and 12 bronzed metal cannon serve as armament. Pre-sewn sails save you hours of work. Kit also includes four diameters of rigging line, silk-screened flag wooden display base and pedestals. Step-by-step photographic instructions, parts list and three large, double-sided plans pave the way to an impressive model.
