Eagle – USCG Training Ship
Eagle The USCG Eagle was built in 1936 by the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany. It served as a training ship for German navy cadets. After World War II, it was seized by the allies. And so on the 15th of May 1946, it entered into service with the United States Coast Guard. The Eagle was involved in the Centennial Celebration of the Statue of Liberty in 1986. It is currently being used as a training ship for approximately 175 cadets and instructors with the United States Coast Guard.
Eagle is an excellent choice for the beginner or advanced builder. Model kit comes complete with a pre-painted plastic hull and all the fittings, rigging line, sail cloth, two large sheets of plans and illustrated instruction manual.
