The
HMS Victory was launched in 1765 as the flagship of the British fleet,
under admirals Keppel, Howe, Hood, Sir John Jervis and, finally, Lord
Nelson. It was under the orders of Nelson that this ship made history,
at the Battle of Trafalgar (1805) in which the Spanish-French fleet was
defeated and where he lost his life. In 1921 his mortal remains were
taken to Portsmouth where a restoration program was commenced so that it
can be admired today.
Kit includes everything
needed to build except for glue, paint and tools. Pictorial instruction
manual in color and detailed plans make building easy and a pleasure.
Artesania Latina has outdone
themselves, this model replica of the HMS Victory is the best kit I have
seen come out in years, coupled with their easy to follow color
pictorial instructions, detailed plans and generous use of high quality
woods, this kit will surely set the example for other kit makers.
